Diagnostic Pitfall in Obstetrics

Abstract

|
Accuracy in diagnosis of diseases has been markedly renovated, along with improvements of diagnostic tools resulting from recent progress in imageology, radioimmunology and molecular biology. There remains, however, diagnostic pitfall in many facets in medical practice with no exception in obstetrics.
Cases of misdiagnosed ectopic pregnancy were not infrequently encountered at "The Review Committee on Malpractice Liability Insurance" organized by the Korean Medical Association. The Eight cases of misdiagnosed ectopic pregnancy during 1989 petitioned at the Committee mentioned above are presented for discussion.
